TOPONOMI

TOPONYMY
Wakaf Che Yeh was thusly named after a waqf that had been built at the junction of Jalan Kuala Krai-Salor. This particular waqf was built by a charitable man named Che Yeh as a resting place for those who were travelling to and from Kota Bharu. Before the age of buses or cars, people would walk a considerable distance to Kota Bharu and thus the waqf was built in order to provide a place of rest for the travellers before they continued on their tiring journey home (Cikgu Abadi, 2009).
